Meet Coop, a 10-month-old German Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix with a whole lot of brains, energy, and love packed into one handsome pup!

Coop is HIGH energy, and we mean it. He’s smart, playful, lovable, and always ready for something to do. With two working breeds in his DNA, this boy is looking for a family who understands that a tired brain is just as important as a tired body.

Coop loves his people and has so much potential with someone willing to continue giving him structure, training, exercise, and plenty of mental enrichment.

One of the things we’re currently working with Coop on is an obsession with chasing his tail. We’re actively addressing the behavior and want his future family to be prepared to continue working with him rather than encouraging it as a cute or funny habit.

He’s still only 10 months old, which means he’s very much a goofy adolescent figuring out the world. He’s incredibly smart and eager to engage along the way.

Coop’s story is that his owner’s father originally got him as a puppy, and Coop stayed with the son while they waited for Dad to be able to take him home. Seven months later, life had other plans, and it became clear that wasn’t going to happen. His owner loved him dearly, but his home was already at full capacity and wasn’t prepared to raise a young puppy for the rest of his life. Surrendering Coop was an incredibly difficult decision, but it was made because he wanted the best possible future for him. While they had him, they did off leash training with him, and he does well with it.
