So, you want to be a foster? WONDERFUL. Here at Crazy Ladies to the Rescue, we take fostering very seriously, and want you to feel as supported as possible in our rescue family. There are somethings we want to go through first, before you fill out your application.
What You Can Expect From Us
Welcome to Crazy Ladies to the Rescue! First, let us thank you for your willingness to foster. We know it is a big responsibility, and it takes your time and energy to be a foster. We want you to know that we are always going to be here for our fosters. If you need something, all you have to do is reach out. If you need food, toys, crates, or help of any kind, we are more than happy to get you those things. If we don’t have fosters, we don’t have a rescue, so we want to make sure you are completely taken care of and aware that we are so grateful to you.
What We Expect Of Our Fosters
Fostering is one of the most important ways you can help animals in need. As a foster, you provide a safe, temporary home while we work to find the perfect forever family.
As a foster with Crazy Ladies to the Rescue, you can expect to:
• Provide a safe, loving, and patient environment for your foster animal
• Follow care guidelines provided by the rescue (feeding, medications, etc.)
• Keep your foster animal separate from personal pets during the initial adjustment period
• Communicate regularly with the rescue about your foster animal’s progress
• Assist with transporting to vet appointments when possible (or communicate if you need help)
• Help coordinate meet-and-greets with potential adopters
• Ensure your foster animal is kept safe at all times (leash, containment, etc.)
• Reach out to the rescue with any questions or concerns—we’re here to support you
We understand that every home and schedule is different. Our goal is to support you and set both you and your foster animal up for success.
Application Process
To be considered as a foster, applicants must:
• Be at least 21 years old
• Complete the foster application in full
• Provide a valid photo ID
• Provide photos of the residence where the foster animal will be staying
• Be willing to communicate regularly with the rescue throughout the fostering process
Once you submit your foster application, a member of Crazy Ladies to the Rescue will review it and contact you with next steps. Our goal is to make sure fostering is a safe and successful experience for both you and the animals in our care.
Please remember that applying to foster does not automatically guarantee approval. Our goal is always to find the best possible fit for both the foster family and the animal.
Thank you for considering opening your home to an animal in need—we truly couldn’t do this without our fosters!
