Age: 4
Sex: Female
Weight: approx. 80lbs

Valkyrie is a beautiful, 4 year old, AKC-registered purebred German Shepherd born on July 10, 2022. She is incredibly intelligent, athletic, and thrives when she has a job to do. Originally intended for search and rescue training, life had other plans, and her family is now making the incredibly difficult decision to find her a home that can better meet her needs.
Valkyrie is looking for an experienced home that understands working breeds, particularly German Shepherds. She has a high prey drive, plenty of energy, and loves both physical exercise and mental challenges. Hiking is one of her favorite activities, and she’s always eager to learn new things (even if she likes to keep you on your toes with a little Shepherd stubbornness!). Her favorite treats include peanut butter, cheese, and even ice cubes.
When the adventure is over, Valkyrie transforms into a giant cuddle bug who believes she’s the perfect lap dog. She loves being close to her people and forms strong bonds with those she trusts.
Valkyrie has worked with a behaviorist, and because of her anxiety and prey drive, she is looking for a very specific home. She needs to be the only dog in the household and should work with a trainer before interacting with other dogs. She would also do best in a home without young children (generally under 10 years old).
She will need an adopter who is committed to continuing her training and providing the structure, consistency, and enrichment that working breeds thrive on. German Shepherd or other working-breed experience is strongly preferred.
Her family has invested in training and behavior guidance and has made this heartbreaking decision out of love. They know Valkyrie deserves a home where she can truly succeed, and we are committed to helping her find exactly that.
If you have experience with German Shepherds or working breeds and think you could provide Valkyrie with the active, structured home she deserves—or if you’re interested in fostering her while we search for her forever family—we would love to hear from you.
